Help design a brand new Darkfield Show
Free Families Workshop | Saturday 2 July | 11am & 2pm
DARKFIELD are working with Lakeside to invite families with children aged 6 - 10 to help in the research and development of an exciting, new, immersive experience for children and their accompanying adults.
Until now, DARKFIELD have been nationally renowned for their audio-led experiences in the dark for adult audiences, but this innovative new project will be for younger audiences and they're looking for families who would like to help shape it.
That's where you come in! DARKFIELD know that they want this new experience to be exciting and full of wonder and awe, but they would like families to help define the content by exploring and understanding better what children do and don't like. During the workshop, through a series of interactive activities and play, families will explore different themes, subjects and stories, the answers to which will help inform what the finished project will be.
In common with many more traditional stories, there are frequently wicked witches or similar scary characters, and so one of the subjects they will be asking questions about is FEAR and WHAT SCARES US. We appreciate this might make some participants uncomfortable, so if you would like to discuss this further before taking part please email Matt from DARKFIELD at Matt@darkfield.org.
The workshop will take place on Saturday 2nd July 2022 and will last for 2 hours. Refreshments will be provided. There are two time slots available: 11 AM or 2 PM and they will take place at Lakeside in the Performing Arts Studio next to the box office.
Workshop sessions are FREE and for family groups, i.e. children and their adult(s). They will be run by members of the DARKFIELD team.
Numbers are limited so places will be allocated on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. Once you’ve registered your interest a member of the Darkfield team will be in touch to confirm you and your family’s place. If you'd like to join please complete this form:
