Luminarium: LuminiMax

Beat the queues by booking Priority Access tickets for specified timeslots. Upon arrival, bookers join a separate shorter queue that is given priority. You will need to arrive around 10 minutes before your timeslot. These tickets cost £6 and are limited so they sell out fast!

Standard Entry tickets are £5 and can be booked for one of the three entry periods each day: 11am-1pm, 1-3pm and 3pm-close, allowing you a bit more flexibility with timings. You can enter the luminarium anytime during the period that you have booked for (so no need to stress if you’re running late!) – we just recommend arriving during the first hour of your entry period.

With these tickets you may have to queue for up to an hour outdoors. There is a play park nearby to help entertain children.

For some, Architects of Air’s luminaria are at their best when full of children marvelling at the wonders inside. For others, our Grown-ups Only session allows them to to enjoy these colourful structures in the sole presence of other adults.

Please arrive for the start of the slot you have booked for. You may have to stand in a short queue outdoors.

Entry is free for children under 18 months. However, tickets are required. These tickets are available to pre-book over the phone (0115 846 7777) and in-person via Lakeside’s Box Office, or can be gained upon entry to the Luminarium.

LuminiMax is fully wheelchair accessible. Mobility scooters are not allowed inside the luminarium, but can be parked outside.

Visitors and/or carers of visitors with additional Access needs, particularly those who may experience difficulty queuing, are encouraged to make themselves known to staff at the entrance to the luminarium on the day. Our team will allow you to bypass the queue and can provide you with any relevant information.

Luminariums are highly visual installations that use colour and light, however those with a visual impairment are welcome to explore and enjoy the atmosphere and ambient soundscape. Luminariums are not suitable for assistance dogs, so we ask that they remain outside, where we will happily look after them while you enjoy the experience. If it is not safe for you to enter the luminarium without your assistance dog, we will insist that your assistance dog wears shoes in order to enter. This is to avoid damage to the structure.

Yes. If you’re visiting Tuesday to Friday, please use the free parking we’ve made available at the West Entrance to University Park Campus. Please allow enough time (20-30 minutes) to enjoy a walk around the side of the lake to reach the luminarium.

On weekends and Bank Holiday Monday, visitors can park anywhere on University Park Campus – meaning there will be plenty of nearby parking available.

Yes, there are six blue badge parking spaces in the oval car park adjacent to Lakeside’s DH Lawrence Pavilion. There are a further four blue badge parking spaces available on East Drive outside the Djanogly Gallery and University of Nottingham Museum.

Yes! Tickets can be purchased on the day online or at our Box Office. Please note, Box Office will be busy and we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

No, pushchairs must be left in our dedicated secure area, which you will be directed to by one of our front-of-house team.

Probably. Every luminarium is extremely popular, so you may have to queue for some time before you get to go inside. We aim to have everyone queueing for less than 60 minutes, but this is subject to how popular a entry period is. Please come prepared for the weather as you will have to queue outside.

We will continue as normal. In the case of extreme weather conditions such as heavy downpours or high winds, we may make the decision to close the luminarium for a brief period. You will be notified of any changes or cancellations.

If you do need to change your timeslot, please call our Box Office on 0115 846 7777 in advance. We cannot guarantee you will be able to get the slot you want and we cannot swap tickets on the day. If you miss your timeslot we unfortunately cannot offer a swap or refund.
