Enjoy a powerful evening of South Asian dance and live music, honouring the company’s rich legacy while embracing new directions.

Founded in 1996 by Vina Ladwa, Manushi Dance is a Nottingham-based community dance company dedicated to promoting, teaching and celebrating Kathak, the classical dance tradition of North India.

At the heart of Manushi Dance is a belief in the power of dance to connect people. Through movement, music and storytelling, the company shares Indian culture in ways that are engaging, authentic and accessible to all.

The programme includes newly commissioned Kathak choreography by Sujata Banerjee and Vina Ladwa, with a Jugalbandhi by Sumana Narain, Jahnabi Mukherjee and Manushi Dancers (Kathak and Bharatnatyam). Featuring beatboxing and poetry by Danny Ladwa and Alma Solarte-Tobon, music directed by Harkiran Sahota and Dmitry Fedotov, alongside visuals by Barret Hodgson.
