How to Book

In line with the University’s response to Government’s latest directives, regrettably we are unable to proceed with Lakeside’s existing programme of exhibitions, workshops, talks and events until the end of June and all of our buildings and facilities are now closed, including our Box Office.

The closure of our buildings has had a significant impact on our ability to process refunds but we are working hard to find a solution and will be in contact with all ticket bookers soon with more information.

Please note that we cannot automatically refund as card details are not kept on file, therefore upon resumption, the process of refunding all tickets may be lengthy process. Many thanks for your understanding, and we very much appreciate your patience.

If you wish to purchase tickets for future events you can do so via the What’s On section of our website.  If you have a query, please email us at lakeside-box-office@nottingham.ac.uk or message us on Facebook.

We continue to review the situation and will issue further communications about our programme as soon as we can.

Please check our website over the coming days and weeks for further information. We are grateful for your continued support in these unprecedented times and send our best wishes to you and your families.

How to Make a Donation when Booking Tickets

There are many ways in which you can donate and contribute towards the continuing success of Lakeside Arts. Round-up your purchase to the nearest £1 or more, or donate any amount, big or small, when buying tickets in person, over the phone or online.

Concessions

Unless otherwise stated, the concessionary ticket price for all Lakeside events is £4 off the cost of a full price ticket – except for family programming. Concessions are available for most ticketed events to:

  • People with a disability
  • Those in receipt of Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support or Pension Credit
  • Those aged 16-30
  • All full-time Further Education and Higher Education students

£5 tickets for those under 16 years of age are available for all performances, except for family programming and events where a full price ticket is less than this amount.

Please bring proof of concessionary status when buying/collecting tickets.

Personal Assistants (carers)

A free ticket for a personal assistant (PA) is available or any deaf for disabled person who has purchased a ticket to an event or performance and would be unable to attend without the help of their PA.

The PA must be able to assist the deaf or disabled person to access Lakeside and its facilities, remaining with them to ensure their wellbeing and comfort. Anyone designated as a Personal Assistant must be able physically to assist the person they are with to leave Lakeside buildings in an emergency.

The following forms of evidence make an individual automatically eligible for a free Personal Assistant ticket in addition to their ticket:

  • Front page of DLA (Medium or Higher rate)
  • Front page of Attendance Allowance letter (no specific rate required)
  • Front page of PIP (no specific rate required)
  • Evidence that registered severely sight impaired (blind)
  • Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
  • CredAbility Access Card (with +1 icon)

We recognise that this evidence might not include everyone that has an access requirement. For those unable to provide us with any of the above, a free PA ticket can still be issued at the venue's discretion to those who need assistance from another person in order to move around safely within Lakeside's buildings.

£5 Student Tickets

A limited number of £5 student tickets are available in advance for all paid-for ticketed performances. These are available on a first come first served basis to all full-time Further Education and Higher Education students.

Two hours 30 minutes prior to an event start time, students will be able to purchase any unsold seats at the £5 price.

University of Nottingham Staff Scheme

Due to launch in early 2020, this scheme offers all University of Nottingham staff a 10% discount on all full price tickets subject to availability.

Staff must register for the scheme in advance or, if booking in person, when booking tickets, in order to receive the discount.

To register, we will require your name, job title, a University of Nottingham email address and work or home postal address. Please note that all University of Nottingham staff will be required to reregister every three years to confirm their continued eligibility.

Check back on this this page in the coming weeks for full information on how to register.

Baby/Toddler Tickets

No charge will be applied for tickets for children aged 3 and under for all non-family events, with children expected to sit/be on their parent/guardian’s lap. No charge will be applied for tickets for children aged 18 months and under for luminaria, however tickets are required.

For family events, the following applies:

  • 0+ age suitability: no free baby/toddler tickets
  • 2+ to 3+ age suitability: babies under the age of 18 months receive a free baby/toddler ticket and are expected to sit/be on their parent/guardian’s lap
  • 4+ and over age suitability: babies/toddlers under the ages of 2 years receive a baby/toddler ticket and are expected to sit/be on their parent/guardian’s lap.

For all seated events, if you wish for a child that is eligible for a baby/toddler ticket to have their own seat, a ticket must be purchased at the appropriate price.

Lakeside Multibuy

Book for more than one event – any combination of paid ticketed show, concert, talk or workshop – in a single transaction and save between 5% and 20% on your total order*.

Discounts will be automatically applied to all online, phone and in person bookings.

The different multibuy discount levels are as follows:

Number of events per order* Multibuy discount
2 5%
3 7.5%
4 to 5 10%
6 to 8 12.5%
9 to 13 15%
14 plus 20%

For example, purchase five tickets across three events – two tickets for two events, and one for a third event – you will receive the ‘three events multibuy discount’ (7.5% off) for all full price tickets purchased.

*Final discount determined by the total number of full price tickets booked across multiple events in a single order. Free and concessionary tickets are not considered when determining the discount. Discount applied only to full price tickets booked in a single transaction. Discount does not apply to free ticketed events and cannot be applied retrospectively.

Restricted View Seats

Restricted view seats are sold for some performances in the Djanogly Theatre. If available and unless otherwise stated, restricted view seats are priced as the per the concessionary ticket price for that performance (usually £4 off the cost of a full price ticket).

Reservations

It is possible to reserve tickets and pay at a future date. Reservations can be held for a maximum of three days. If the day of an event falls within three days of a reservation being made, the tickets will be held until 30 minutes before the start of the event.

Group Discounts

All groups can buy nine tickets and get the tenth ticket free (this applies to the cheapest ticket). For school and college groups, the free ticket for every nine purchased is for a teacher or carer. To receive the group booking discount, tickets must be booked in advance and in one transaction. Group discounts do not apply to workshops.
