The A52 will be closed westbound from Priory roundabout to QMC roundabout from Wednesday 28 May for around four months, with an eastbound one-way system in place. Westbound traffic is being diverted via the A6464 (Woodside Road) and the A6005 (University Boulevard).

• Barriers are now in place to prevent University Park Campus being used as a short cut to bypass traffic. They are closed from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.
• Lakeside can only be accessed by car from the North (QMC roundabout) and South (University Boulevard) entrances to University Park Campus.
• Visitors cannot drive from the West Entrance (near Beeston) to Lakeside, and vice versa, for the duration of the roadworks.
• Traffic disruption and delays are expected. Please leave plenty of time to travel to Lakeside and check live traffic information before travelling.

Parking between Tuesday 27 May-Friday 30 May:

• Due to expected traffic disruptions and delays caused by the A52 roadworks we recommend going straight to Extra Car Parking, this will be next to the West Entrance (near Beeston) NG7 2QE. From here you can take a 20 minutes walk, along the lake to Lakeside or hop on the tram for one stop (University Boulevard-University of Nottingham).
• This car park will be open 10.30am-6pm, Tuesday-Friday.
• There are two free car parks next to Lakeside’s DH Lawrence Pavilion which do fill up quickly during busy periods.

In addition to our accessible parking spaces, in our ‘Oval’ car park next to the D.H Lawrence Pavilion, during half-term week we will have additional accessible spaces available for those with access and mobility issues. These additional spaces will be in our ‘Strip’ car park, next to the D.H Lawrence Pavilion – simply let a member of staff on the gate aware that you require accessible parking.

With a tram stop (University of Nottingham) right outside it is easy to visit Lakeside via the tram.

You’ll find Lakeside at the South Entrance of the University’s Park Campus. You can enter University Park via University Boulevard (A6005). This entrance is accessible if you’re coming from the Beeston direction. If you are coming from Clifton Boulevard you’ll need to stay in the left-hand lane and follow the signs for the Tennis Centre. This will then allow you to turn right onto University Boulevard. 

Alternatively, if you are coming to us from Lenton or Clifton Boulevard (A52) you can use the North Entrance. Once you reach the security gate, just let them know you are visiting Lakeside.

Free Lakeside Car Parks:

There are two free car parks next to Lakeside’s DH Lawrence Pavilion which do fill up quickly during busy periods. Visitors to Lakeside and Highfields Park can park here for free at any time, for any duration.

There is also parking on University Park campus.

If you are visiting at the weekend or after 4pm on a weekday, all University Park Campus car parks are unrestricted and free to use.

If you are visiting us before 4pm on a weekday you can also park in the pay and display visitor car parks on campus. There is one located up the hill from Lakeside (on Cut Through Lane) where you will have to purchase a ticket.

If you reach the security gate let them know you are here for Lakeside Arts and they will happily let you in. The map below will show you the available car parks on campus.

You’ll find bus stops right outside Lakeside on University Boulevard.

From Friar Lane to University South Entrance: Trent Barton Indigo (to Long Eaton/Derby) runs every five minutes during the day and less frequently in the evening, these buses run 24/7.

Lakeside is about 2.5 miles away from Nottingham Train Station. From the station, there are frequent trams to Lakeside (stop: University of Nottingham) on the Toton Lane line.
