Artist Rachel Carter will talk about her two year project inspired by her Nottingham ancestors in the textiles industry and the Pilgrims who fled the Midlands in 1620 aboard the Mayflower.
The explorations, research and travels have culminated in a new bronze sculpture titled Pilgrim Woman and a major exhibition which opened at Lincoln’s The Collection which has toured the Pilgrim Roots Districts across 2020.
Rachel has undertaken a series of artist residencies; Nottingham's Industrial Museum, onboard a cargo ship crossing the Atlantic, Harvard Universities Peabody Museum and finally The Pilgrim Monument and Museum in Provincetown, America.
