Join Professor Marina Novelli, Chair of the UN Tourism / World Committee on Tourism Ethics and Director of the University of Nottingham’s Sustainable Travel and Tourism Advanced Research (STTAR) Centre.

Drawing on 25 years of research and engagement across the African continent, Professor Novelli will reveal how personal stories of travellers, communities and cultures can unlock new ways of understanding sustainability beyond traditional messaging and meanings. Her talk champions STTAR’s mission to transform global tourism through ethics, innovation and human‑centred insight.

This talk accompanies the powerful exhibition “LAGOSPHOTO: Stories of Movement and Belonging,” curated by Maria Pia Bernardoni, showcasing artists whose work captures the emotional, cultural and political dimensions of movement in today’s world. Following the keynote, audiences will join an expert panel featuring Bernardoni, exhibiting artists and leading thinkers, culminating in an interactive ideas laboratory designed to spark fresh perspectives and collaborative solutions.

This vibrant event underscores STTAR’s commitment to reimagining travel and tourism for a more sustainable, just and connected future, where stories inspire action and creativity drives change.
