This one-day course is an introduction to relief carving in stone led by Alan Micklethwaite who trained as a stone carver at Lincoln Cathedral.

You will be taught to use the basic tools and techniques of stone carving to produce a small piece of relief sculpture, which will be yours to keep. No previous experience is necessary, and all tools and materials will be provided.

Due to the nature of this workshop we recommend wearing sturdy shoes or boots. The day includes a break for lunch, which you can bring along or purchase in our café.
