Suitable for ages 16+
Applique was a commonly used technique in the middle ages as a quick, cheap way to make an impression, often using recycled materials and scraps from old clothing alongside gilded leather. Using both manuscripts and surviving originals like the V&A Museum’s Tristan hanging for inspiration, you can make your own medieval cushion, or even tablet cover.
