Information to Artists:
The East Midlands Contemporary Art Auction will continue the format of previous years (last held in 2012) with works selected from open submission by representatives of both Djanogly Gallery and CIA.
 
Who Can Apply:
Artists (including applied arts) living and working in the East Midlands region (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire)
 
How to Apply:
  • Complete the online application form below 
  • Artists are invited to submit up to 4 works for selection
  • Send images via WeTransfer to neil.walker@nottingham.ac.uk with an accompanying Word Doc that lists the below for each work:​
    • Title
    • Medium
    • Size
    • Date
    • Reserve price (see below for band details)
  • Images must be good quality (min 300 dpi res), numbered and clearly captioned with artist’s name
  • All works submitted must be for sale and belong to the artist
  • All works submitted must be original work made by the submitting artist in the last 2 years
  • All submitted works must be in excellent condition 
  • A maximum of 2 works by each artist will be selected
  • One work only will be accepted in any one of the following 3 reserve bands: Band 1: £50-£99 Band 2: £100-£249 Band 3: £250-£500
Submission Fee and Payment:
A £6 administration fee is payable on submission of application. Payable online at http://bit.ly/2WPuSJ3 or by calling the Lakeside Box Office on 0115 8467777, Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm or Sunday 12noon-4pm.
 
Reserves and Sales:
Reserve prices must range between £50 and £500. The reserve price is the lowest price at which the artist wishes to sell the work. Artists will receive the full price announced when the work is sold (the hammer price). Silent bids are also accepted. Buyers are required to pay 10% commission on top of the hammer price. 
 
Insurance and Other Responsibilities: 
All work will be fully insured against loss or damage whilst on exhibition at the Djanogly Gallery. Transport to the Gallery and insurance of the work in transit will be the responsibility of the artist. 
 
Timetable: 
Deadline for online applications: Friday 9 August 
Selection: Monday 12 August
Selected works delivered to Gallery: Thursday 29 August - Sunday 1 September
Private View: Friday 6 September
Exhibition dates: Saturday 7 September - Saturday 12 October
Auction: Saturday 12 October at 1pm
