GERSHWIN Rhapsody in Blue LAMBERT The Rio Grande ORFF Carmina Burana Carmina Burana is renowned for its rhythmic vitality, dramatic vision and direct musical language, setting a series of 13th-century profane poems that celebrate eating, drinking and love-making! No less vivid is Constant Lambert’s musical portrait of a South American carnival, a colourful musical celebration that features choir accompanist, Ian Richardson, in the virtuoso solo piano part. To complete the programme, conductor Peter Davis will move to the keyboard to perform the solo part in Gershwin’s seminal Rhapsody in Blue in an arrangement for two pianos. Please note this event has now sold out.
