Purcell: Chacony in G minor
Borodin: String Quartet No.2 in D
Beethoven: String Quartet in C, Op.59 No.3 (Rasumovsky)

Prizewinners at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, the Piatti Quartet makes its Lakeside debut. The achingly melancholic variations of Purcell’s Chacony open the concert. Borodin’s second quartet, dedicated to his wife, is a heartfelt, joyful evocation of their love spanning 20 years. Beethoven’s music will feature regularly throughout 2020 as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth.
