Their burials, however, were richly furnished with objects. Each object has its own story and the graves can reveal to us not only how these people reacted to death but how they spent their lives. With many replicas to handle and referring to real artefacts in the museum, we will recreate burial practices and explore what these can tell us about the costume, religion, technology and society of the early Anglo-Saxons. With Sam Glasswell (Freelance Archaeologist and Part-Time Curator of Bassetlaw Museum) and re-enactment group A Little Bit of History.
