featuring music from Michael Radford’s The Merchant of Venice The programme features music from Jocelyn Pook’s sumptuous film scores including Michael Radford’s The Merchant of Venice and Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. Jocelyn Pook has collaborated with many leading names in the rock, pop and classical music worlds: artists as diverse as Massive Attack and Laurie Anderson. Long-time collaborator, Natacha Atlas, star of the world music scene, who began her career with Jah Wobble and Transglobal Undergroyund before beginning her solo career, joins the ensemble in tracks from the film. Atlas was made a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the UN in 2001 in recognition of her pioneering music and her message that there is strength in diversity, that our differences – be they ethnic, racial or religious - are a source of riches to be embraced rather than feared.”
