We are delighted to confirm that we have secured the brilliant young pianist Hong Xu to perform at Lakeside. Hong Xu studied at the Wuhan Conservatory, the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY and The Julliard School; he has given recitals at Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. Hong Xu touredChina with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the beginning of 2012 and made his Royal Festival Hall debut with them later in the year. He played with the Halle at the beginning of 2012 for a series of concerts with their Principal Guest Conductor, Markus Stenz and returns to them on the 5th December with a concert which will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. The programme will feature Chopin, Bach and Liszt. The full programme for the evening is as follows: CHOPIN: Barcarolle in F sharp minor op. 60 BACH: Partita in E minor BWV 830 BEETHOVEN: Fantasia Op. 77 CHOPIN: Fantasy in f minor LISZT: Rhapsody Espanole ***We regret to announce that Jonathan Biss is no longer able to perform at Lakeside as programmed on the 7th December.
