Running time: approximately 70 minutes followed by book signing Suitable for All This is a wonderful opportunity to hear two of our national treasures reading their work, tonight with a particular seasonal reference. Carol Ann Duffy was appointed Britain’s poet laureate in May 2009. She has received many awards including the Somerset Maugham Award; the Whitbread Poetry Award; the Dylan Thomas Award from the Poetry Society and in 2012 the PEN /Pinter Prize. Her most recent book of poetry is The Bees (2011), winner of the 2011 Costa Poetry Award and the 2011 T S Eliot Prize. National Poet of Wales since 2008, Gillian Clarke was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2010, and the Wilfred Owen Award 2012, both awards recognising her substantial body of work. Presented in partnership with the School of English, University of Nottingham
