Colin Carr and Thomas Sauer bring their respective talents on cello and piano to Lakeside with a rich programme including Beethoven's lyrical and contemplative cello sonata and Barber's flowing, romantic Sonata. You can also hear one of Bach's intense and intimate cello suites, a favourite of great cellists all around the world. Colin Carr has appeared throughout the world as soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and teacher. A regular at the BBC Proms he has performed with many of the major orchestras in Europe and the USA and is the winner of prestigious international awards, including the Gregor Piatigorsky Memorial Award and Second Prize in the Rostropovich International Cello Competition. "Mr Carr has exceptionally concentrated control and a Rostropovichian gift of telling the music's story as if he had written it himself." New York Times "a uniquely satisfying recital" The Washington Post
