Montéclair Le Dépit Généreux Rameau Gavotte e Doubles in A minor Handel La Lucrezia HWV 145 Flammende Rose, Zierde der Erden HWV 210 Meine Seele hört im Sehen HWV 207 Geminiani Sonata in F major Op.5 No.5 Purcell The Blessed Virgin’s Expostulation O Solitude Telemann Sonata for recorder in F minor Croft Celladon The Brook Street Band present a cross-section of London’s multi-cultural musical society uniting the music of the English Croft and Purcell with the French Rameau and Couperin, and the Italian Geminiani with the German and Italianate Handel and Telemann. Although we usually claim Handel as English in this instance he represents Germany! The Brook Street Band is an award winning specialist in eighteenth century repertoire that takes its name from the London street where George Frideric Handel lived and composed for most of his working life. Its various prizes include BBC Radio 3 Young Artists' Forum and the Byrne Award, given by the Handel Institute for Handel scholarship. "The Brook Street Band are gaining quite a reputation for their stylish and imaginative programmes. Their pleasure in the music is infectious" Gramophone Magazine Editor’s Choice The Brook Street Band's website
