Eric Whitacre’s Cloudburst and Colin Touchin’s Eclipse are wonderfully atmospheric evocations of natural phenomena, while Nigel Clarke’s Gagarin depicts the momentous launch of the first manned space flight. John Williams’ blazing space fantasy completes a programme which promises wonder, intrigue, mystery and celebration. The concert will finish at approximately 9.30pm
