José Miguel Ando Alvarez (Bolivia) From Dominguez to Prodencio Bolivian classical guitarist Jose Miguel Ando Alvarez has won significant guitar competitions in Bolivia and studied at the National Conservatory of Music. Alvarez will perform a solo classical guitar work with video projections. José Guilermo Puello Alfonso (Dominican Republic) Un Inverosímil Archipiélago Cojuelo Spirit Galipote Composer José Guillermo Puello has a particular affinity with his Dominican roots. His music explores his homeland’s cultural heritage of carnival rhythms, contrasting traditional elements of the music of the Dominican Republic with Western classical music. For his WEYA concert three works for different combinations of instruments provide a flavour of this unique compositional voice.
