PLEASE NOTE THIS WORKSHOP IS TO BE POSTPONED DUE TO ILLNESS. BOOKED PARTICIPANTS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. Session is to be held in the Learning Studio, Djanogly Art Gallery. With Dr Sally Ann Ashton, Assistant Keeper, Department of Antiquities, Fitzwilliam Museum University of Cambridge. Unlike many Ancient African cultures where history is passed down by word of mouth, the people of Ancient Egypt wrote on just about everything. How did the Ancient Egyptian people write and what do their symbols mean? Learn the basics of how to read and write the Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and have a go yourself. One of three sessions on ancient writing. Come and learn how to decipher and write these ancient scripts. Sessions can be attended individually or as a group. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for children aged 7+ and their families.
