Running time approximately 90 minutes without interval Suitable for 14+ years Seven elderly people lie together in an enormous bed, infused with youthful energy they re-live their happiest memories, inhabit their wildest dreams and battle against their darkest fears, all the while trying desperately to catch that most sacred bit of shut-eye. But that mysterious head on the shelf has other ideas… "Cartwright writes better about old people than anyone I know, except perhaps Beckett. This is an odd, harrowing and hilarious piece, entirely without sentimentality, sturdy but moving." Sunday Times New Theatre Company was established in 1969 as the only student-run theatre company in England, and has continued to develop from strength to strength since that time, presenting 19 productions annually in its own studio theatre. Regular presenters at the Edinburgh Fringe where they gathered a clutch of 5 star reviews in 2011, they are also frequent winners at the National Student Drama Awards, notching up no fewer than 4 awards last year. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Samuel French.
