LISZT Les Années de Pèlerinage Suisse SCHUBERT Sonata No.18 in G major, D894 Inspired by the Romanic literary works of Byron, Schiller and Senancour, and the magisterial landscape of Swiss mountains and lakes, much of Liszt’s Années de Pèlerinage Suisse was composed during a 16-month sojourn from 1835-6. Revised in 1855, the collection is brilliantly effective in depicting natural scenes and conveying constantly changing moods. Andreas Haefliger’s first visit to Lakeside was a highlight of the season, his return concert is not to be missed. The concert finishes at approximately 9.15pm
