THIS EVENT TOOK PLACE IN 2010 John Harle presents a programme showcasing saxophone repertoire by a variety of composers from all four corners of the musical world, including Debussy, Ravel, Chick Corea and Duke Ellington. The concert cumulates in Phil Woods’ Jazz Sonata; a work which amalgamates the Impressionist and Jazz traditions. The first half of the concert features student saxophone ensembles and soloists with whom John has been working, including Van Morrison’s classic song ‘Moondance’ arranged for Saxophone Octet, and an arrangement by University of Nottingham graduate James Crockford.
