BY CARLYLE BROWN DIRECTED BY CHUCK MIKE 1821. 40 years before the end of slavery. The African Company, the US’S FIRST black theatre troupe, is preparing to produce Richard III in down town New York, but whether they will be allowed to perform is another matter… “powerful punch…delivered by the power of the entire ensemble…talented, multicultural group from all reaches of the African diaspora… So powerful is the performance, in fact, that its punch will follow you out of the theatre and into the night” - The Washington Times To complement the production, Aqua will be serving some tasty treats including Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas.
