THIS PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE IN 2008 CURATORS CHOICE: MARIA LA RIBOT ALL GOOD SPIES ARE MY AGE UK PREMIERE A man dressed in a white suit displays small cards to a video camera. Projecting their image on a screen, we can read what is written on them. Is he going to stand up and move? Is he a spy? Or are we the ones spying as we watch him. All Good spies are my age is an unusual and highly inventive way to tell a story. Curators choice: Maria La Ribot Maria La Ribot has visited Nottingham on several occasions, notably with 40 espontaneos, a piece in which she worked with 40 over 40’s from Nottingham to create a performance for nottdance06. As an established international performance maker, this year she has chosen to introduce the work of fellow Spanish artist Juan Domínguez. “After the performance we still don’t know if Juan Domínguez invited us for a family slide show, or to share his birthday, or for his girlfriend birthday party, or for all at the same time” Anna Pasant, Valencienne Co-produced by Espace Pier Paolo Pasolini, Comunidad de Madrid (Spain), and Cuqui Jerez, with the support of Xavier Le Roy, Insitu productions. nottdance08 takes place from 17-26 October in several venues across Nottingham.
