THIS PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE IN 2008 Conductors Jonathan Tilbrook & Peter Siepmann BACH Orchestral Suite No.3 in D, BWV1068 GORECKI Three Pieces in Olden Style MARTINÙ ‘La revue de cuisine’ HAYDN Symphony 8 ‘Le soir’ Join the University Philharmonia for an early evening concert of colour and contrast to celebrate the end of the academic year. Framed by the elegance, energy and wit of the works by Bach and Haydn, the programme also includes Martinù’s Jazz suite (featuring a dazzling ‘Charleston’ and ‘Tango”) based on Jarmila Kroschlova’s Temptation of the Sanctimonious Pot, and Gorecki’s atmospheric pieces for strings based on old Polish melodies. Please note, there is no interval, the concert finishes at approximately 7.15pm
