THIS PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE IN 2008 Click here to listen to a sample of Tcha Limberger's Gypsy Orchestra in rehearsal. Click here to view one of their performances on YouTube. In true Hungarian Gypsy Band style, bursts of soaring musical tragedy and czardas madness are delivered by this group with a passion and technical virtuosity that is amazing. An astonishingly accomplished multi-instrumentalist, the world class violinist Tcha Limberger comes from a famous family of Gypsy musicians and grew up with the Gypsy-jazz style of Django Reinhardt. Drawn to Hungarian gypsy music from an early age, he spent three years studying its roots in Budapest. Now just 30, he tours with this small orchestra of hand-picked Budapest Gypsy musicians and there are no other ‘Primas’ playing in Budapest who command such respect. ‘…caressing the strings at the fiercest tempos... Brilliancies came and went so fast that there was hardly time to applaud until the end.’ London Evening Standard 7pm Pre-concert talk with Tcha Limberger Performing Arts Workspace Admission free – limited spaces, booking advised
