THIS PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE IN 2008 Monte Palafox, voice Mike Limmer, bass Andres Garcia, guitar Demi Garcia, drums & percussion Sylvia Hallet, violin & accordion Neo-Burlesque glamour meets gypsy defiance in Monte Palafox's LaXula ensemble where songs drift effortlessly from the sun-baked routes of Southern Spain to the urban vibrancy of the East London underground. Rooted in an ancient feminine spirit, the band's dark and beguiling sound draws on a myriad of influences including flamenco, Arabic, tango and Roma, liberally spiced with indie-rock.
