THIS PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE IN 2008 Izabella Szalaj-Zimak, violin Elwira Przybylowska, violin Marek Czech, viola Michal Pepol, cello HAYDN String Quartet Op.76/4 'Sunrise' SHOSTAKOVICH String Quartet No.8 in C minor, Op.110 DVORAK String Quartet in F, Op. 96 'American' Since graduating from the Music Academy in Warsaw this ensemble of young Polish musicians has gained an enviable international reputation. From 2004-2006 the quartet were members of the BBC's New Generation Artists in addition to running a highly successful chamber music festival in Warsaw 'Kwartesencja'. The ensemble was shortlisted by the Royal Philharmonic Society as one of the three most outstanding chamber groups to appear in the UK in 2006 and are scheduled to record the Szymanowski Quartets for Hyperion in spring 2008. The concert finishes at approximately 9.05pm
