THIS EVENT TOOK PLACE IN 2007 Penelope Shuttle lives in Cornwall and has published several collections of poetry, the latest being the moving Redgrove’s Wife, a book of lament and celebration about her relationship with her husband, the poet Peter Redgrove, who died in 2003. Penelope will talk about how poetry has provided her with, in her words, ‘the proper consolations of human loneliness’ and taught her how, in darkest times, to ‘go on loving the world, which is what a poet is for’. Bloodaxe Books is Britain's premiere poetry publisher, and has teamed up with Nottingham City Literature Development to bring four top contemporary poets to Lakeside. SPECIAL OFFER Purchase tickets for three poetry events and get the fourth free. Please note poetry events can not be booked on-line. Please call the Box Office on 0115 846 7777.
