THIS EVENT TOOK PLACE IN 2007 Menna Elfyn is the best-known of all Welsh-language poets. She writes with passion about the Welsh language and identity for which she campaigns. Bloodaxe have published her bi-lingual volumes of poetry with translations by poets including Gillian Clarke, Robert Minhinnick, R S Thomas, and Elin ap Hywel, and she will read from these English translations, with snippets of Welsh, and talk about her writing life. Bloodaxe Books is Britain's premiere poetry publisher, and has teamed up with Nottingham City Literature Development to bring four top contemporary poets to Lakeside.
