THIS PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE IN 2007 DOUBLE BILL Wasteland by Laura Lomas “This town is the arse end of the East Midlands. It’s the arse end with a good paint job and some bloody fairy lights.” A gritty and unflinching portrayal of growing up where expectation is low, choices are few and the pressure is just too much. The Execution of Damiens by Declan Keen Directed by Adel Al-Salloum and Sarah François Eighteenth Century Paris. Damiens stands accused of attempting to assassinate the King and the authorities are keen to take their pound of flesh. Whilst the King has escaped with only a scratch, Damiens is subjected to the Five Point torture plan. A blackly comic piece with contemporary resonance. ABOUT MOMENTUM FESTIVAL...
