Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England.
- Artsmark provides a clear framework for teachers to plan, develop and evaluate arts, culture and creativity across the curriculum.
- Schools in the East Midlands are supported throughout their Artsmark journey by the local bridge organisation The Mighty Creatives. Staff here provide training, advice, practical teaching resources and introductions to leading cultural organisations in your area.
- Schools are awarded Silver, Gold or Platinum, based on their achievements.
- Artsmark has a common sense application process that is light on paperwork and flexible to each school.
As one of the leading cultural organisations in the East Midlands Nottingham Lakeside Arts is very pleased to be Artsmark ‘friendly’. Partnerships with us guarantee schools access to high quality cultural events across the visual and performing arts. School leaders are invited to commit to a relationship that will provide exciting, authentic arts experiences throughout the year.
We actively involve young people and teaching staff in our diverse programme, providing a menu of ‘off the shelf’ practical workshops that are led by an experienced team of Associate Artists. We are also very happy to provide bespoke talks, workshops, Arts Award input, teacher CPD and other opportunities to cater for the specific needs of each school.
As well as the Museum of Archaeology, the Djanogly Gallery, Recital Hall, and Theatre, the arts centre hosts 2 cafes and 3 smaller galleries. We are situated on the leafy University Park Campus at Nottingham University and much of our learning programme takes place outdoors in the woods and around the lake, with input from the Park Ranger. Student volunteers act as mentors and assistants in schools’ events.
