Diwali celebrations in association with Diwali Day at New Art Exchange.

Schedule of events:


  • Akram Khan Company in association with MOKO presents Chotto Desh

From 4pm: 

  • Free Music and Dance performances
  • Free Drop in Workshops – Mehndi, tealight Rangoli, Diyas-making, Sari Corner and Stalls
  • Traditional Indian Food from Mirch Massala and Pritam Sweet Centre


  • Parade of Light led by Dhol Drummers and featuring local school children, families, and community groups with lanterns
  • Fire installation by Walk the Plank


  • Akram Khan Company in association with MOKO presents Chotto Desh

Event ends at 8pm

On 15 November, New Art Exchange will also be hosting a Diwali Day from 10am - 3pm

10am – 12pm

  • Diwali reflections' – live, Indian classical recitals and performances
  • Chitraleka Dance company present present South Indian dancer, Anaya, bharatanatyam's latest prodigy followed by a sitar and tabla recital by the Dhadyalla brothers, Surmeet Singh and Upneet Singh (booking required, follow the link at the bottom of this page).

12pm – 3pm

  • NAE's resident chefs will create a special Diwali Thali, mango lassi, nimboo paani and a pallet of colourful Indian treats.
