Songhoy Blues are four talented, hungry, sharp and outward-looking young men from a part of the world that has had more than its share of pain and conflict in recent years. But it has given far more than its share of music and joy to the world in return over the past four decades.

Recently hailed by Songlines magazine as Mali’s ‘Next Big Thing’. Songhoy Blues have had fantastic reviews for their album Music In Exile which was released in February and were on Later with Jools last week:

Praise for their album:

Etching out their own groove – 4/5 Daily Telegraph

They have all the makings of African-rock crossover heroes – 5/5 The Guardian

Thrilling and vital young African band – 4/5 Mail on Sunday

Persuasively propulsive as anything so far released this year – 4/5 Independent

Grit, urgency and delicacy in abundance – 4/5 Q
