The Must Farm Pile-dwelling–Sediment and Settlement
With Mark Knight, Cambridge archaeological unit
Wednesday 11 october, 1pm

It now seems the Must Farm Bronze Age Pile-dwelling was built, occupied and burnt down in quick succession. The brevity of the settlement and its catastrophic demise provided a rare set of circumstances, which in turn ensured exceptional
preservation. Individual roundhouses, with entire household inventories were preserved within the gentle sediments of a small river buried deep beneath the fens.
