A showcase of work by two high profile craft makers, jewellery designer Nuala Jamison and fashion designer Kei Ito. This work has been selected to reflect and compliment the aesthetic qualities of the Liliane Lijn exhibition in the Djanogly Gallery. Lijn was the foremost exponent of kinetic art using plastics, liquids and light in the early 1970s. A pioneer in her field, Jamison explores the luminous effects of light passing through her trademark material, Acrylic. Combining soft pebble like shapes with bright neon colours she produces a challenging and beautiful collection of jewellery that looks and feels both natural and man-made. Renowned for expanding the boundaries of textiles Kei Ito will be showcasing a collection of her contemporary handbags. Using materials such as felt and PVC, Kei Itos work can be described as fabricated clothing and textile sculpture. Her three dimensional designs combine sculptural and hand painted elements. She specialises in unusual forms of cuttings and pattern.
