THIS EXHIBITION TOOK PLACE IN 2009 The works in this exhibition have been made by members of Lakeside’s Gallery Art Group for 11-16 years olds which meets on Saturday mornings throughout the year. They have been made in response to the American Scene: Prints from Hopper to Pollock exhibition held in the Djanogly Art Gallery in February and March. The students have explored a type of printmaking called collagraphy whereby a variety of materials are assembled and glued onto a flat wooden board or ‘plate’ to give different surface levels and textures. These might include paper and fabric which are then coated with varnish or acrylic before printing. Opposite: Louis Lozowick, New York. Lithograph, c.1925 © Lee Lozowick
