The Runaway Hare is a hide and seek adventure performance for toddlers and their grown-ups. The audience is invited to become part of the story and join the performer in a curious, playful and sensory journey through a digitally enhanced performance.

The show is presented in collaboration with Nottingham Lakeside Arts and has been developed and designed by the Theatre Designer Roma Patel as part of her PhD research at the University of Nottingham, Horizon Digital Economy Research and Mixed Reality Lab. Her research is focused on the design of visual, sensory and interactive digitally enhanced performance spaces to harness
young audiences innate playful nature.

The performance will engage audiences as co-creators through touch and play. Some of the activities are child-led which allows them to influence the action, choose where to play and how to collaborate with the performer. You and your child can help us gather inspiration and inform our future research work by interacting with the digital materials and tactile objects. All the performances will be recorded
using video, audio, photographs and field notes as part of the research project.

The performances are FREE and last 60 minutes. Space is limited to 4 children aged 18 months to 3 years with their grown-ups per performance. To reserve a place, email
