Theatre Writing Partnership Presents

The Momentum Festival celebrates the best new; young writing from the East Midlands, featuring plays by writers aged 16-26 from across the region. The scale and ambition of the work this year takes us all around the world. We see threat of the future and the truth of the past. From hot reggae blasts on a Jamaican beach to a love triangle set in eighties Poland… We have also included some inspiring workshops and discussions, led by established theatre makers and writers which are free and open to everyone. So, if you're interested in hearing what the next generation of playwrights has to say, or if you would like to find out more about structure, dialogue or what makes the regional Artistic Directors tick, come for a day, or better still, the week! This year our Headliner play 'Earl of Mo'bay' by Leah Chillery tells the tale of two British girls and their holiday antics in Jamaica. For more information or to find out what's on, pick up a festival programme from the Box Office or call us on 0115 846 7777. Alternatively a full festival programme is available at
