Krysia Osostowicz violin Matthew Truscott violin Judith Busbridge viola Pierre Doumenge cello Bartók String Quartet No.2 Beethoven String Quartet Op.18 No.6 in B Bartók String Quartet No.6 Shortlisted for a Gramophone Award in 2002 and with frequent live broadcasts on Radio 3, the Dante Quartet is renowned as one of the Britain's finest. Bartók’s Quartet No.2 draws on the music of North Africa with rabic-influenced tune and rhythmic accompaniment.Quartet No.6 is Bartók’s most personal work and the last he wrote in Hungary before emigrating to the US. These quartets are contrasted with Beethoven’s melancholy and delicate Quartet Op.18 No.6.
