The Summer Festival Choral Evening incorporates a diverse range of music from students at the University of Nottingham, ranging from classic, choral repertoire to light-hearted, popular favourites. From the traditional, pure sound of the University Choir and Viva Voce, to the lively, fun sounds of Man Choir and Coro Sorelle, the evening promises not only moments of serenity and tranquillity, but those of entertainment and wit. Viva Voce - programme to include: Grieg - Ave Maris Stella Lauridsen - O Magnum Mysterium Purcell - Hear My Prayer Holst - In Youth is Pleasure Whitacre - Lux Arumque Man Choir - programme to include: Billy Joel - For the Longest Time Paul Simon - Sound of Silence Journey - Don't stop believing Claude François and Jacques Revaux – My Way Coro Sorelle - programme to include: An arrangement of songs from ‘Frozen’ Singing in the Rain Rhythm of Life The University Choir, which comprises of students, staff and alumni of the University of Nottingham, will complete the programme with Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine, before one final massed performance of Howard Goodall’s Love Divine, promising a sublime finish to an evening of extraordinary music and talent.
