Before the Spartans: Life and Death in Southern Laconia (Greece) in the Bronze Age (c. 3000-1100 BC) Thursday 25 October. 1pm Dr Chrysanthi Gallou, University of Nottingham Department of Archaeology and Centre for Spartan and Peloponnesian Studies. Sparta, in southern Greece, is well known for its brave warriors of the sixth and fifth century BC. However, this lecture will provide an insight into the life and activities of the earlier people of the region (c. 3000-1100 BC ) and their contacts throughout the Mediterranean. Following the talk Chrysanthi Gallou will discuss the pottery from Cyprus on display in the Museum. All talks take place in the Lecture Theatre next to the Museum at 1pm. Admission FREE.
