Arts for Adults with Learning Difficulties

Meander Theatre is offering a chance to explore a range of theatre arts practises in four ‘have-a-go’ taster sessions. Inspired by Lakeside’s visual art and performance programme, the sessions will include 2D and 3D visual art practises and drama. If you enjoy the taster session you may like to sign up for an 11 week course of weekly sessions in the autumn. The taster sessions are on: 1. Wednesday 18 April 2012 1.30 to 3.30 2. Wednesday 2 May 2012 1.30 to 3.30 Create a large group wall hanging inspired by Edward Burra’s paintings. Enjoy the chance to experiment with lots of different materials including fabric, paint, block printing inks, card, shadows and light. 3. Wednesday 13 June 2012 1.30 to 3.30 4. Wednesday 11 July 2012 1.30 to 3.30 Starting with a visit to the studio of artist Kashif Nadim Chaudry at Lakeside Arts Centre, create a moving character inspired by Nadim’s large textile sculptures. We’ll be using various found objects and art materials including fabric, wire, wood and feathers.
