BRIGHT LIGHTS CONCERTO
sinfonia ViVA Simon Crawford-Phillips piano Nicholas Kok conductor Bach Orchestral Suite No.3 in D BWV 1068 Beethoven Piano Concerto No.2 in B Op.19 Nicholas Sackman Vivace Turnage On All Fours Haydn Symphony No.95 in C minor sinfonia ViVA return with the dynamic Simon Crawford-Phillips performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.2 and the première of Nicholas Sackman’s Vivace, his creative response to Beethoven’s concerto. The series’ focus on composer Mark-Anthony Turnage continues with On all Fours: a playful reinterpretation of a Baroque orchestral suite. Haydn’s Symphony No.95 is part of ‘London’ symphonies, written when the composer was at the height of his creative powers and revelling in public and critical acclaim. This concert is part of Listen Up! Festival of Orchestral Music 2004 from BBC Radio 3, the Association of British Orchestras and Making Music.
