Two exciting and distinct events in one evening – book for either or both together! Yaman Krishna Lodh A beautiful performance of traditional Indian classical and semi-classical music from renowned sitar player Krishna Lodh, with tabla accompaniment from Amit Chatterjee, a promising young musician from Bombay. Krishna’s Yaman performances will include the evening raga – played on auspicious occasions to bring good luck and happiness, and raga desh – played on romantic evenings! Trained at the Tagore Institute of Bonn in Germany and under Pandit Ajoy Sinha-Roy of Kolkata, India, Krishna’s sitar style is influenced by his hometown Comilla, a land which has produced many famous musicians. He has performed at festivals and concerts in Germany, France and the UK. Heart of the Dragon China People Promotions A spectacular combination of traditional Chinese performing arts, featuring some of the finest professional Chinese artists around. This extravaganza of music, dance and Chinese opera from the renowned China People Promotions brings beauty, colour and spectacular performances. Heart of the Dragon includes a live music ensemble playing traditional instruments such as the Yangqin (dulcimer), Quzheng (harp), Sheng (mouth organ), Erhu (violin) and Dizi (flute); folk dances such as the Peacock dance and Ribbon dance; and a memorable Beijing opera performance performed with full make-up and stunning costumes. Natural Breaks and Rhythms Julius Ayodeji (Theatre Writing Partnership) A script in hand presentation of a self contained sequence from a new play, Natural Breaks and Rhythms, by exciting contemporary writer Julius Ayodeji. This new play interrogates male identity from the perspective of different generations. The section presented follows two young black men aspiring to break into the music industry, and features a specially-composed live soundtrack with DJ. Julius is working with the Theatre Writing Partnership, the innovat
