What is Young Rangers?
A new series of monthly outdoor activities for budding Young Rangers.
Based in Highfields Park, Lakeside Young Rangers meet on the first Saturday of the month to enjoy outdoor play and discovery through basic orienteering, nature walks and crafts, scavenger hunts, animal tracking, den building and survival skills.
The group is led by Steve Clarke, Highfields Park Ranger, and Assistant Volunteer Leader Kathryn Lewis.

Who for, when and cost
Saturday 7th January, 4th February, 4th March and 1st April
6–8 years, 11am–12.30pm
9–11 years, 1–2.30pm
£7 per session
Young Rangers can enjoy a free taster tennis session at Nottingham Tennis Centre. 1-1.45pm for 6-8 years 3-3.45pm for 9-12 years Just let Box Office know if you want to joing the tennis session when you book.
What equipment do I need?
You will need full waterproofs, warm old clothes and strong shoes, preferably walking boots. You will also need to bring a drink, sun cream and insect repellent according to the season. All other equipment is provided.
Does Young Rangers activity lead to accreditation?
You can work towards a John Muir Award and National Navigation Awards but they are not compulsory. It can also count towards Duke of Edinburgh Award service.
