Quotes from Museum Volunteers

“I have been involved in amateur archaeology in Nottinghamshire for over forty years and thought that my local knowledge would prove useful. It was also an opportunity to learn even more about local archaeology.”

‘What makes The University of Nottingham Museum unique is the supportive environment. Projects are designed with volunteers in mind as well as the general public and academic audiences. Volunteers are mentored, trained and allowed opportunities to gain experience where their skill set is lacking and are encouraged to take the lead on projects under supervision of museum staff.’

“It has enabled me to gain vital hands on experience in the museum environment and begin the process of building a relevant CV.”
