PILOT THEATRE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH YORK THEATRE ROYAL AND UNICORN THEATRE PRESENTS

Looking for JJ

Thursday 28 February - Saturday 1 March 08
"We had a wonderful experience at Lakeside Arts centre when we saw Looking for JJ. Some students had not been to a theatre before and some had only seen pantomime. We had some lovely discussions and questions."

"It was good how they used the bed and the chairs to be different things and different places 'specially when the bed was that tunnel."

"The play ended slightly differently to the book and this set them off thinking that what they had seen and read was only a part of JJ’s  life. They discussed what else might happen to her and wondered about writing a sequel."

"From being a very quiet group they have developed into a lively bunch, eager to talk and give their opinions. They are eager to repeat the experience."

Rachel Podger and Gary Cooper

Thursday 2 April

"I attended the concert given by Rachel Podger and Gary Cooper last night in Nottingham and would be grateful if you could pass on my appreciation to them both.

I have not had such a completely enthralling musical experience for many years. - David Lally"

TESTIMONIES BY AUDIENCE MEMBERS

“The Lakeside Arts Centre is a wonderful venue and is always very welcoming. It has a very intimate feel to it and you have always tried to present a wide and varied range of artists and work.  Keep it up.

Lakeside is one of my very favourite venues with, its location, its welcome, its variety, its charm and its sometimes challenging and provocative presentations.”

"The most amazing performance I have seen for a long time. This reality was spectacular. To say I enjoyed it is not quite the right expression, a difficult emotion to express. Absolutely fantastic."
